New Zeland Birds

This story takes place in New Zeland where a "mythological" species of bird-canine hybrid lives in the mountains.

your character can be a bird-canine hybrid (any kind of bird with any kind of canine, you can just take one of your OCs and add wings and/or feathers if you like)

or Normal dogs are allowed, mostly sheep herding dogs from the lowlands and other kinds of dogs are welcome.

Velocity landed hard on a large rock, her feet tingled with the impact but she sublimley liked it. She looked up from her perch and saw some of her comrades flying above, she felt the icy new zeland wind cut across her face and she leaned into it, her long ears back, wishing she had wings to fly too. but the closest thing she had to wings were two flight feathers that sprouted from behind her left ear.

Shatter saw her friend below and shot down. "Whyd you stop?" she said, the owl-wolf hybrid swooping in to land on an adjacent rock.
"Just enjoying the weather from way down here." Velocity turned and jumped about a hundred feet to another craig, shatter followed close behind.
